Crossville Update – The Latest on Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels and New ANSI Standards

When we launched Laminam by Crossville in 2012, we became the first in the U.S. to add a complete line of these innovative products through our exclusive distribution agreement. At that time, the gauged porcelain tile panel category was in its infancy in the U.S. In the half decade since, we’ve joined with industry associations to develop terminology, standards, and best practices. We’ve led in education for professionals who must have deep understanding of the vast possibilities and unique requirements of gauged porcelain tile panels. To date, we’ve trained 1,300 installers (and counting!), providing the practical knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to successfully install these products (click here to find a certified Laminam contractor near you).

Crossville leads gauged porcelain tile panel innovationsAs we further expand our Laminam product offerings, we’re pleased to report that our full line of Laminam gauged porcelain tile panels are compliant with the new ANSI A 137.3 (Specifications for Gauged Porcelain Tiles and Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs). All of our Laminam products not only meet but exceed the product performance measures defined in this latest standard.

In pursuing ANSI compliance, we sought not only to bolster the reputation of our Laminam lines but to support the gauged porcelain tile panel category in the U.S. market as a whole. And because we feel strongly that consistency in installation methodology is essential as more and more installers start training with gauged porcelain tile panels, we also joined other industry leaders in the development of the ANSI installation standard (ANSI A108.19) to ensure these large tile panels continually perform as expected.

Attaining ANSI A137.3 and helping to develop the installation standard are just the latest in our longstanding commitment to the gauged porcelain tile panel category.

Thanks to the technical- and standards-focused efforts and investments we’ve put into our Laminam by Crossville products, we’ve seen designers, installers, and specifiers throughout the country incorporate our collections into a wide range of beautiful and unique projects.
